Abrasion resistance measures the product outer material's ability to withstand the wear and tear of friction caused by mechanical parts and instances of repetitive scraping or rubbing. For furniture with textile outer material the abrasion resistance is ususally determined performing a Martindale-test that returns a number on the Martindale-scale.
